Dedication, Perspective, Excellence: Together for EUSD’s Future!

Introduction

A Parent and Trustee

As a retired Navy veteran with a strong dedication to service and community, I bring a unique perspective to the EUSD Board of Trustees. As a parent of two children who have benefited from EUSD schools, I understand the importance of a high-quality education for all students. I am running for reelection to continue advocating for inclusive and welcoming campuses where every child can thrive and succeed. Join me in ensuring that EUSD remains a place where excellence in education is the top priority!

My Priorities

Commitment to High-Quality Education

As your EUSD school board trustee, my top priority is to ensure that every student receives a high-quality education. By implementing innovative teaching methods, investing in professional development for our teachers, and integrating cutting-edge technology, we can provide our students with the tools they need to succeed academically and beyond.

Preparing Students for a Diverse and Multicultural World

In today’s global society, it’s crucial that our students are prepared to thrive in a diverse and multicultural environment. I will champion curriculum enhancements and extracurricular programs that expose students to different cultures and perspectives. By doing so, we can equip them with the skills and understanding needed to succeed in a globalized world.

Enhancing Student Support Services

To ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed, I will advocate for the enhancement of student support services. This includes mental health resources, counseling, and academic support programs. By addressing the holistic needs of our students, we can create a supportive environment that fosters both academic and personal growth.

Encouraging Parental and Community Involvement

Parental and community involvement is vital to the success of our schools. I will work to create more opportunities for parents and community members to engage with our schools, whether through volunteer programs, advisory committees, or community events. By fostering a strong home-school connection, we can create a supportive network for our students.

Safe, Inclusive, and Welcoming Schools

Creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all students is essential. I will continue to advocate for policies and programs that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. By fostering a positive school culture and addressing issues such as bullying and discrimination, we can ensure that every student feels valued and supported.

Transparent and Accountable Governance

Transparency and accountability are key to effective governance. I am committed to open communication with parents, teachers, and community members. By actively seeking input and providing regular updates on board decisions and school initiatives, we can build trust and ensure that our district is responsive to the needs of our community.

Promoting Environmental Sustainability

Our schools should serve as models of environmental responsibility. I will continue to support initiatives that promote sustainability, such as energy-efficient buildings, recycling programs, and environmental education in the curriculum. By teaching our students the importance of protecting our planet, we can cultivate environmentally conscious citizens who are prepared to tackle future global challenges.

Supporting Professional Development for Educators

Teachers are the backbone of our educational system, and their ongoing professional development is essential. I will support initiatives that provide educators with opportunities for continuous learning and growth. This includes access to workshops, conferences, and advanced degree programs. By investing in our teachers, we ensure that they are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills to effectively teach and inspire their students.
